An award-winning vegan catering company spoken out on why it won’t be covering Leeds Festival when it returns later this month.
Veggies Catering cover festivals all over the UK but have stated that whilst the return of festivals is positive news, Leeds and Reading festivals are not ones they’d considering covering – despite having struggled through the pandemic.
Leeds Festival have stated in the past that they are working very closely with Julie’s Bicycle, a not-for-profit organisation working on sustainability within the creative industries as part of their industry Green certification.
Leeds was crowned Best Festival at the Creative Green Awards 2018.
Festival Republic, who help run Leeds Festival stated: “We have signed the Festival Vision : 2025 pledge to work together with other festivals to understand, and aim to reduce, our carbon emissions to 50% by 2025 (from 2014 levels) following the Paris Agreement.”
Most are ecstatic at Leeds Festival returning on August bank holiday weekend.
Others though are looking at the news with trepidation.
Leeds and Reading festivals have promised this year, there will be no clashes as they introduce two main stages and six headliners.
Oasis legend, Liam Gallagher has announced his return in his own unique style tweeting: “READING n LEEDS c’mon you f**kers LG x.”
He also said he’d welcome setlist suggestions from fans.
