Two EastEnders legends are eyeing starring roles in ITV’s Emmerdale.
We know soapland can be a small place and we’ll often find actors with multiple soap operas on their CVs – often culminating with a last stop at Hollyoaks.
Now two EastEnders icons have set their sights on our Yorkshire soap.
First up, Shaun Williamson, better-known as Barry from EastEnders, has been begging Emmerdale bosses for a part.
As we’ve previously reported, he said: “I love Coronation Street and Emmerdale. I’ve really got a soft spot for Emmerdale, I’d love to go up there.
“Occasionally, they have a Cockney character through for a few months, so I’d love to be in Emmerdale I think.

“And, after my experience on a farm doing this show I reckon I could go in and give their farmers a run for their money.”
Shaun played Barry in EastEnders from 1994 to 2004 before his character was bumped off by wife Janine. It is one of the soap’s most famous storylines and attracted 15 million viewers when it aired.
While, Daniella Westbrook, who previously played Sam Mitchell in the London soap, has spoken of her eagerness to join Emmerdale.
“I love EastEnders, I love Sam, but my dream is Emmerdale. I’d love to be in Emmerdale, I’m a country girl. You can see where I live – I ride horses.
“One of my school friends Kevin Mathurin, is now in Emmerdale, playing the vicar.”
As always, we’ll keep you posted regarding the cast comings and goings in Emmerdale.
