Police shut Stanningley Bypass after woman falls from bridge – as it happened



Police closed Stanningley Bypass in Leeds after a woman fell from a bridge.

West Yorkshire Police said that the major road in Pudsey was closed after a woman fell earlier this afternoon, Monday September 13.

At the time it was causing delays and long queues in the area as motorists were diverted around the scene.

The force say that it is believed that she suffered non life-threatening injuries.

In a statement on Twitter they said: “The Stanningley bypass, Pudsey is currently closed after a female fell from a bridge earlier this afternoon.

“She suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.”

The road re-opened at around 7pm.
