Oba Kitchen and Bar opens at Leeds Merrion Centre promising fusion food and vegan delights


Two new businesses have been opened at The Merrion Centre in Leeds including a restaurant serving Korean and Japanese flavours.

Oba Kitchen and Bar will add to the dining options at the shopping centre, serving a fusion of Korean and Japanese cuisine.

Its menu is also adding to the vegan scene in Leeds city centre, offering a number of hot and cold vegan dishes.

The Merrion Centre has also welcomed Hair by Gordon who specialises in cutting, colouring and styling of both male and female Asian hair types at their new look salon on the upper balcony level.

Owner Gordon Sung, who graduated from Toni & Guy and Vidal Sassoon, has more than 20 years of experience and has travelled around Asia presenting seminars for L’ Oreal, Wella, Schwarzkopf and TIGI.

Gordon has also worked as both a stylist and educator for Toni & Guy (HK).

Charles Newman, owners of the Merrion Centre said: “It’s fantastic to welcome this latest duo of businesses to the Merrion Centre and we’re confident their specialist offerings will prove popular with new and existing visitors including the increasing international student population within close proximity.
