
Major changes will be coming into force for internationl travel next month.
The government have confirmed that, from October 4, the ‘amber’ travel list will be axed and there will be only the ‘red’ list – alongside countries that are safe to visit and return from without the need for quarantine.
Transport secretary Grant Shapps said on Twitter yesterday (Friday) that eight countries are also set to be taken off of the ‘red’ list, which includes Turkey and Egypt.

This comes as Jet2 holidays confirmed that they have seen an “immediate and massive surge” in bookings of flights and package holidays, since news of these impending changes broke a few days ago.
The budget holiday company will be resuming flights to popular Turkish destinations such as Antalya and Dalaman, from September 23.
Jet2 CEO, Steve Heapy, said: “We are delighted to be restarting this programme and with great deals to be had, we know there will be phenomenal demand for late-summer sunshine, October half-term breaks and winter sun. The same applies to the 40-plus destinations we are operating to.”
