Leeds United transfer rumours as Brugge identify potential Noa Lang replacement

Leeds United supporters are preparing for the final weekend of pre-season, as the eagerly anticipated league opener against Manchester United draws closer.

The Whites visit Old Trafford on 14 August but have not been quite as active in the transfer market as expected, making just three additions to the first-team.

Of those three, only Junior Firpo represents a serious upgrade in a position considering Jack Harrison had already been at the club for three years and Kristoffer Klaesson will initially be an understudy to Illan Meslier.

However, persistent links to players in the media suggest Leeds are aiming to bolster their ranks further for the upcoming campaign.

Club Brugge identify replacement for Leeds-linked winger

Leeds have been strongly linked with a swoop for Club Brugge winger Noa Lang, and the Belgian club may have found a replacement for the 22-year-old old if he does move on.

According to journalist Tomas Taecke, Club Brugge have reached an agreement with Barcelona over a deal for Alex Collado.

Collado is comfortable operating on the wing, suggesting the deal may be being done with Lang’s potential exit in mind.

Leeds ‘working’ on deal for Huddersfield Town midfielder

It has been widely reported that Leeds are keen on Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien and journalist Phil Hay has confirmed it is ‘definitely one to watch’.

Speaking on his podcast ‘The Phil Hay Show’, he insisted a deal for linked midfielder Nahitan Nandez was never in the offing but that it may be worth keeping an eye on developments with O’Brien.

He said: “They are in for O’Brien at Huddersfield.

“(He’s a) good player and another player people might think there’s not a lot of showbiz there but he’s someone Bielsa evidently likes. Bielsa was there for the League Cup game against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.

“That one looks like it’s there to be done if Leeds actually want to push it through.

“I know it’s not a Nandez, for example. But I don’t think they were ever signing Nandez. I don’t think that was ever in the plan, I don’t think that was ever going to happen.

“O’Brien is definitely one to watch because they’re working on that one.”

Former Leeds captain closing in on move to Middlesbrough

Former Leeds captain Sol Bamba is on the verge of a move to Middlesbrough, according to Football Insider.

The 36-year-old has been training with the Championship club after leaving Cardiff City and the report claims Boro have reached an agreement to add the veteran defender to their ranks.

Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock worked with Bamba when he was in charge of Cardiff, although the pair never met at Elland Road despite both having spent time there.
