Leeds United have confirmed Marcelo Bielsa’s starting line-up and squad for the final friendly of the summer against Villarreal.
Liam Cooper makes his start of the summer with the first team, while Kalvin Phillips joins up with the main group for the first time too, but from the bench.
Diego Llorente, Junior Firpo and Jamie Shackleton are all missing. Llorente and Firpo missed out on Wednesday night in Amsterdam too, with what was described as minor knocks. Shackleton, of course, went off after a nasty head collision against Ajax.
Illan Meslier, Luke Ayling, Robin Koch, Patrick Bamford, Raphinha, Tyler Roberts, Stuart Dallas, Helder Costa, Rodrigo, Pascal Struijk, Jack Harrison and Mateusz Klich are all included.
Expected formation: Meslier; Ayling, Struijk, Cooper, Dallas; Koch; Raphinha, Klich, Rodrigo, Harrison; Bamford.
Substitutes: Klaesson, Drameh, McCarron, Roberts, Costa, Greenwood, Phillips.
The real stuff kicks off in seven days’ time when the Whites travel to Manchester United for the start of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.
