Jet2holidays reported a large increase in bookings to Madeira following a huge surge in bookings.
It comes after the Portuguese island was added to the governments green list, meaning holiday makers do not need to self-isolate upon returning from the destination.
The leading leisure airline and package holiday specialist reported bookings for Madeira had increased by almost 1,500% as customers jumped at the chance to finally book and enjoy their much-needed holidays.
In response to the soaring demand, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have added additional flights to Madeira with immediate effect, from Leeds Bradford Airport, which will see thousands of extra seats on sale throughout September and October.
Additional Saturday services are also now operating throughout the summer, from July 3 through to August 28 from Leeds Bradford Aiport.

The Leeds based airline announced the update via social media.
A tweet from the official Leeds Bradford Airport Twitter account read: “Additional flights to Madeira from #YorkshiresAirport In response to increased demand, @jet2tweets will increase flights to Green List destination, Madeira during this September and October.”

Madeira has attracted big name holidaymakers with its unique atmosphere, with just a 25-minute walk from town, Funchal’s four beaches and enviable nightlife scene adds a young, hip vibe to the traditional seaside holiday.
