Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck look upset during impassioned chat
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner might have ended the spooky season on a frightening note.
The co-parents of three — who share Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11 — were spotted together in Santa Monica, Calif. Tuesday morning for a Halloween celebration at their children’s school but looked a bit tense as they chatted outside.
It’s not clear what they were saying, but Garner had a visible frown on her face and the conversation looked passionate.
However, the pair appeared to settle down as Garner cracked a smile as her ex rested his hand on her bicep.
The pair, both 51, were dressed for fall weather during their outing, with the “Deep Water” star looking handsome in a cream blazer worn over a gray crewneck sweater.
On the bottom half, he donned blue pants and white and red Nike sneakers.
For her part, Garner dressed in black camouflage leggings, a black long-sleeve and a black puffer vest.
She carried a white mug decorated with a cream heart design, while Affleck held a clear plastic to-go cup.

Affleck and Garner got married in 2005 and seemingly split by 2013. However, they did not announce that they were separating until June 2015 and did not file for divorce until April 2017. They finalized their divorce less than a year later in October 2018.
The joint outing came days after Affleck and his wife, Jennifer Lopez, were spotted looking sharp at Pia Miller’s birthday party on Saturday.
The “On the Floor” singer, 54, demanded attention in a curve-hugging lime green Tom Ford dress that featured a deep v-neckline.
Meanwhile, Affleck looked dapper dressed in a deep blue velvet suit and loafers.
In September, an insider claimed Lopez helped Affleck and the “13 Going on 30” star get to a “better place.”
“The drama of the past and the emotions of divorce are long gone and they are all making it work,” the source added.
They also confirmed that Lopez and Garner are “friendly.”
The “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” actor married Lopez in 2022, about 20 years after they were previously engaged.
The singer shares her 15-year-old twins, Emme and Max, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
