Inside Leeds United training sees Pascal Struijk fool Illan Meslier and U23 shows off technique

Leeds United have been back in pre-season training now for almost four weeks with preparations set to step up a notch over the next week.

The Whites will be taking part in four friendlies in just five days with fixtures against AFC Guiseley, Blackburn Rovers, Fleetwood Town, and Real Betis.

Leeds will then conclude their pre-season campaign with an eye-catching clash with Dutch champions AFC Ajax at the Amsterdam ArenA ten days before the season opener with Manchester United.

Marcelo Bielsa is notorious for his tough pre-season regimes and this summer has been no different with the likes of Patrick Bamford voicing how the intensity levels appear to have gone up a level with Leeds eager to avoid standing still.

New clips have emerged over the past few days demonstrating what some of players have been getting up to during training.

In one of the videos, Leeds may have just unearthed an unlikely new penalty taker in Pascal Struijk, who enjoyed a superb breakthrough campaign in the Premier League last term.

Struijk posted a video on his Instagram story of him firing in three impressive spot-kicks past Illan Meslier, before being mobbed by some of his teammates, as he appears to net the winner in a competition among the players.

Struijk’s final penalty was initially saved by Meslier, before bouncing down off the top of the crossbar, then trickling back into the net – to the amazement of the watching Leeds squad.

The second clip that surfaced across social media was of U23s winger Crysencio Summerville, who has been subject of reported loan interest from newly-promoted Eredivisie side SC Cambuur.

The Dutch youngster is seen scoring an incredible strike in one of the side’s shooting drills, as he took the ball onto his weaker left foot, arrowing in a powerful strike into the top corner via the crossbar.
