Important update for Jet2 customers trying to call about their holidays

Jet2 is now flying to over 40 quarantine free destinations but that doesn’t mean things are returning to normal straight away.

As restrictions have been changing, with countries switching from green to amber at the drop of a hat, the company are hoping to provide some clarity and assurance for their customers in the coming weeks.

Summer is here and many of us have booked foreign holidays, and due to uncertainty, it’s understandable more holidaymakers are wanting to get into contact with the company than ever.

Adding more staff to their roster, Jet2 is now asking for customers to only get in contact if their flight is in the next 21 days.

They have also reiterated that if guidelines or the government’s advice changes for a certain country, then they will let holidaymakers know prior to travel.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, wrote: “it is still an unprecedented time for travel. We are all still navigating a range of varied and changing travel restrictions from UK and overseas governments.

“Many of these restrictions come with little or no notice, meaning we are making decisions very quickly and without any warning. When we make these decisions, we always do so with the best interests of our valued customers in mind.

“Right now there are an unprecedented number of customers wanting to speak to us to discuss their most important purchase of the year, their holiday. They want and deserve to feel assured.

“As such, I have made the difficult decision to prioritise all calls by departure date, so that we can deal with all our customers’ enquiries fairly and comprehensively.

“I would like to therefore politely request that customers do not contact us if they are not due to travel in the next 21 days.

“Please be assured that if there are any changes to your booking, or the government guidelines change, we will contact you prior to travel.”

Jet2 has been praised throughout the pandemic for its service to customers.

Most customers will need a PCR test before flying and the company is offering a number of options for customers, with discount codes for tests from suppliers Collinson and Randox.

Pre-booked in-person tests and home tests are available.

PCR tests are £43 each, with day two and day eight test packages start at £86, and return to the UK tests start at £25.

Lateral flow and antigen tests are also available.
