Former Liverpool midfielder issues Leeds United Raphinha transfer warning

Graeme Souness has claimed Leeds United will soon have to fight off major interest for Raphinha.

The Brazilian international arrived at Elland Road last summer and has been a revelation in Leeds colours, taking the Premier League by storm.

Raphinha’s ability to take players on and register both goals and assists has made him one of the most exciting players to watch in the Premier League.

And he was the centre of attention as Sky Sports’ pundits discussed Leeds United’s Premier League clash against Burnley.

During the conversation, former Liverpool midfielder, Graeme Souness was quick to sing Raphinha‘s praises and claimed he would not be surprised if the “big” clubs came knocking for the Leeds United midfielder soon.

“Yeah I like him,” Souness said.

“Some of the big guys will be knocking on the door for him. Someone who can dribble and have you on the edge of your seat, he can do that and he can score goals.”

And the Sky Sports pundit was quick to make a prediction about Raphinha’s future suggesting that the Brazilian does not have long left at Elland Road.

“A great age, our football as we know is different and he’s handled it easily. He’s extremely talented. He’s quick and understands the game, he delivers in every sense I think this time next season, another big season and the big clubs will be sniffing.”

Raphinha has been reportedly linked with Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea this summer, but no concrete offer has been made for the Brazilian just yet.

With Leeds determined to keep their star player, prospective suitors will have to offer a hefty bid in order to land Raphinha.

Whether Souness’ words will ring true in a year’s time? Only time will tell.
