The Prince of Wales was pictured walking the red carpet solo at the 77th BAFTAs at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday as the Princess of Wales continues her recovery from abdominal surgery.

William, 41, who has been the president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010, looked dapper in a navy velvet tuxedo jacket with black lapels, black trousers and a white shirt.

The heir-to-the-throne wasn’t the only bold-faced name walking the red carpet.

Bradley Cooper, Margot Robbie, Naomi Campbell, Emily Blunt, Cate Blanchett and Emma Stone were all in attendance.

On Friday, Kensington Palace confirmed the royal’s attendance at the event.

The annual ceremony is regularly attended by the royal couple.

“The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery,” the Palace said in a statement on Instagram, adding that the Princess of Wales “is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

William’s appearance on the red carpet comes after he took a week off royal duties to look after his wife and their three children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — during their school vacation.
